1. Definitions.

2. The collection of personal information.

Personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, will be collected from the Users of the Website in several ways, each of which is intended to enhance the services provided by AIS to the Users of the Website. The type of information we gather online falls into three general categories, as described below.

a) General Tracking Information.

AIS keeps a record of User's online sessions, including the User's IP, computer, and network addresses, the date, time and duration of the visit, and the web pages and other objects the User requests from the AIS server.

b) Account Setup and Online Ordering Information.

As an initial matter, customers are required to provide personal information in connection with their application for an account with AIS. AIS also keeps a record of all transactions or purchases conducted through the Website. In order to complete such transactions, AIS requires each User to submit the Transactional and Billing Information indicated below. Alternatively, Users always have the option to call, fax or mail in the Transactional and Billing Information to conclude a purchase.

(i) Transactional Information.

The User's email address, name, billing address, shipping address, method of shipping, and purchase order number.

(ii) Billing Information.

AIS also collects the following method of payment information.

(1) If payment is made online by credit card, the User will be required to provide the type of card, the card number, the expiration date, and the credit card verification value (a set of numbers on the credit card used to prevent

fraud); or

(2) If payment is made online using check processing, AIS will also require the User's checking account number, the routing number of the User's bank, and either the User's social security number or driver's license number (again to prevent fraud).

c) General Correspondance.

AIS also retains copies of all correspondence with its customers and other Users of the Website, including emails. Additionally, providers of third-party content available on the Website, such as the providers of research information, may collect information relating specifically to your use of that content.

Cookies.

In order to facilitate your use of the Website, AIS will assign your computer browser a random number that uniquely identifies it. This is accomplished by sending an element of data to your browser. This data is then stored on your system and is commonly referred to as a "cookie." Certain areas of the Website may require that you accept cookies if you wish to enter. Cookies are offered to our Users to enhance the convenience of the Service. For example, cookies store information such as user names and passwords and allow customers to avoid re-entering this information every time they access the Website. Cookies also allow AIS to track how individuals are using the Website as described in Section 1 above. The User also has the option of turning cookies off on his or her browser, in which case the User will still generally have access to the Website, but the Website web server will be unable to collect the information described above.
